Steve Crowther Artistic Director

Steve studied composition with Jonathan Harvey and Michael Finnissy at the University of Sussex. As a composer he has been fortunate enough to have works performed by a number of leading British artists including the London Sinfonietta, Andrew Ball, Ian Pace, the Smith and Fitzwilliam Quartets and Rosemary Hardy. In 1991 Steve, with former LMF organiser David Power, took over the York concert series "Soundpool", and in 1995, converted it into the Late Music Festival, with David working as Artistic Director and Steve as Administrator.

Edd Caine Projects Manager

Edd is a local composer and freelancer. In addition to Late Music, Edd also works for the University of York Music Press and Vanbrugh College. He has worked for the Late Music Festival for the past three years, the last two in his capacity as Assistant Administrator. He has been responsible for spearheading and managing the Call for Performers and Late Music Publishing, acting as technician and performer liaison. Edd is also a freelance web programmer and designer and is responsible for programming, designing and maintaining the website as well as using online technologies for promotion. As projects manager, Edd will be overseeing the Performers Platform and Late Music Publishing as well as the website and overall graphics and postering. Visit Edd's Website

Judith Clough Public Relations and Publicity Officer

Judith was the Administrator for the Medieval Players (1983-1987), the Canterbury Festival (1987-1988) and Manager of esteemed The Dufay Collective and The Carnival Band (1985-1989). Judith has continued to work in the arts combining this with her family responsibilities. As Publicity Officer Judith will be responsible for promoting the nine evening concerts plus lunchtime recitals of the Late Music Concert Series.

Peter Boardman Administrator

Peter was formerly Arts and Culture Commissioner with the City of York Council. He was a founding member and Chair of SightSonic Ð York International Festival of Digital Music. Other partnership working includes developing York Live Music Festival, Dune Jazz Festival, Film Alfresco, Minster Millennium Mystery Plays and York Guilds' Waggon Plays. With Touch Music he and SightSonic colleagues promoted Spire, in York Minster, 2007. Now semi-retired, he runs Peter Boardman Associates, is a board member of the University of York Music Press, a member of the organising group of the Roslyn Lyons Art Gallery at the University of York's Music Research Centre, and a part-time duty manager at the National Centre for Early Music. Charles Hunt Secretary

Charles has worked on the promotion of many local concerts and music events in York since 1975, and before that was employed in music publishing in London. He is an occasional classical music reviewer for The Press. Charles has been Secretary of the Late Music Festival since 2003 and is responsible for producing the concert programmes including programme notes, biographies and design content

David Power Advisor

David Power was born in London in 1962. His initial interest was rock music. In the late 1970's and early 1980's he played in a number of bands and appeared on the compilation album New Belief in Old Cities in 1983. He studied composition with Richard Steinitz, Steve Ingham and Roger Marsh. His Three Chamber Pieces was premiered at the 1987 Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and since then his work has been performed widely throughout the UK. He was Composer in Residence at the Go West Festival in 1996 and has received a number of commissions over the years. In December 1995 his Seven Songs was broadcast on BBC Radio Three. Earlier that same year he co-founded the acclaimed Late Music Festival of which he remained Artistic Director until 2008. In 2007 he was awarded the St Hugh's Fellowship to write new pieces and found a new classical music festival in NE Lincolnshire. This Festival was held in 2008 and has now been made into an annual event. Visit David's Myspace
