Elastic Axis

ELASTIC AXIS is a contemporary jazz quintet that plays new music drawing on jazz, classical and Balkan / klezmer influences alongside modern interpretations of pieces from these repertoires.

While each of these traditions is individually revered, this group makes no attempt to compartmentalise what it does, aiming instead to filter the varying dialects through its own unique voice, reflecting the diverse training of its band members, who have collectively studied a wide range of disciplines including jazz, Western and Indian classical, Eastern European, Arabic, African and Indonesian music.
